Teresa Pearce launches her general election campaign

Teresa Pearce today launched her campaign for re-election in Erith and Thamesmead at the General Election on Thursday 8th June.

There was standing room only at Abbey Wood Community Centre, while Labour members and supporters discussed the upcoming general election campaign.

Addressing the campaign launch meeting, Teresa said:

I want to say a big thank you to all who have already expressed their support for me in the upcoming election, and to those who have been out campaigning already.

The country and our local area face enormous challenges, whether it is Brexit, the housing crisis, Southeastern rail, or the NHS and social care.

I am a local MP. I’ve lived in this area for nearly 40 years, raised my family here, and it has been a genuine privilege to be the area’s Member of Parliament. I care about the things you care about because I live here - I use the same roads, hospitals, trains.

And I believe now more than ever that we need a strong local voice representing our area.
